This position will coordinate with customs brokers, review import declarations, maintain internal compliance procedures, monitor regulatory changes, and support responses to U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP). Qualifications 1. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States. 2. At least three years of experience in U.S. customs, imports, or trade compliance. Experience with an importer, customs brokerage, or freight forwarder’s customs department is preferred. 3. Working knowledge of U.S. import-entry procedures and customs-documentation requirements. 4. Knowledge of HTSUS classification, customs valuation, country-of-origin rules, duties, and FTA/USMCA requirements. 5. A U.S. Customs Broker License is preferred but not required. The company does not require the employee to use a personal broker license to make customs entries. 6. Strong written and verbal communication skills in English. Chinese language skills are preferred. 7. Experience handling CBP examinations, CF28 and CF29 notices, or customs audits is preferred. Key Responsibilities 1. Review import documents and customs-entry information to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with CBP requirements. 2. Coordinate with customs brokers regarding entry filings, examinations, requests for additional information, and customs release. 3. Manage or support HTSUS classification, customs valuation, and country-of-origin determinations. 4. Evaluate the impact of Section 301 duties, FTA/USMCA requirements, and other trade measures on the company’s imports. 5. Develop and maintain import compliance policies, standard operating procedures, recordkeeping practices, and internal controls. 6. Manage or support responses to CBP examinations, CF28 and CF29 notices, audits, and other compliance reviews. 7. Monitor changes in CBP regulations, tariffs, executive orders, and U.S. trade policies. 8. Maintain working knowledge of import and country-of-origin requirements involving China, Mexico, and the United States. 9. Identify customs compliance risks and recommend corrective and preventive actions. 10. Maintain complete import records in accordance with CBP requirements. Preferred Experience - Import experience involving consumer electronics, display products, or other manufactured goods; - Familiarity with HTSUS classification and Section 301 duties; - Experience with country-of-origin and USMCA issues involving China, Mexico, and the United States; - Experience responding to CBP examinations, CF28/CF29 notices, or customs audits
