Position: Quantity Surveyor OVERALL OBJECTIVE The Quantity Surveyor supports the Lead Estimator in the day-to-day commercial and procurement delivery of residential construction projects. This role focuses on accurate material take-offs, subcontractor order placement, cost control, and ensuring materials and trade packages are delivered on time to support progress. Key Responsibilities: 1. Material Take-Offs & Costing Prepare detailed material take-offs from construction drawings and specifications. Accura calculate quantities and assist in developing project cost breakdowns. Update material quantities as drawings or conditions change. Assist with pricing comparisons and cost checks against budgets. 2. Procurement & Subcontractor Orders Obtain and compare supplier and subcontractor quotes under guidance of the QS Leader. Prepare and release purchase orders and subcontractor work orders in line with approved budgets. Ensure scopes, rates, inclusions, and exclusions are clearly documented. Maintain procurement records and cost tracking spreadsheets/systems. 3. Delivery & Cost Control Track material delivery schedules and follow up with suppliers to ensure timely delivery to. Liaise with teams to confirm materials received match orders and specifications. Assist in monitoring project costs and identifying potential variances early. Support the QS Leader in maintaining accurate cost forecasts. 4. Variations & Progress Support Assist with pricing variations, change orders, and cost adjustments. Help prepare supporting documentation for progress claims and cost reports. Ensure variations and cost changes are properly recorded and communicated. 5. Project & Team Collaboration Work closely with Project Managers, Managers, and QS Leader to support smooth project delivery. Respond promptly to queries related to materials, costs, and procurement. Contribute to maintaining positive working relationships with subcontractors and suppliers. 6. Systems & Process Support Use internal QS systems, templates, and digital tools accura and consistently. Assist in improving procurement tracking, cost reporting, and documentation processes. Follow company commercial procedures and compliance requirements. 7. General Responsibilities Perform any other duties reasonably required to support project delivery and business objectives
